Terry House Barbecue: A Community Gem in Thomasville, NC

I went to Terry House BBQ this morning to pick up some breakfast since it was close by during the winter Storm , and they were open. I found the staff to be very nice to talk to , friendly and was personable. The food was excellent, my wife and I loved our meals , we will definitely be back. Support your local business!

I am a TerryHouse advocate & believer! I have been coming here all my life. Just a simple, down home place. Bambi and her team will go to great lengths to make sure you are satisfied. When they get to know you, they treat you like family, only better. Let's keep this only restaurant in this part of town open, by coming in regularly. Try their breakfast, BBQ or fish!!! / The Terry house is back to thriving! Business is booming for Brandi & staff. I guess I should quit spreading the word. Because it's often busy these days. Just kidding. I still spread the word! . It is filled with great hometown people. It is a great place to meet friends around Thomasville. A Great restaurant altogether! It has become my hang out, away from home! It's that comfortable, and home spun with most of the waitresses having been here more than 20 years! // If there is any update at all, it is that the restaurant owner tries to continuously improve an already great restaurant. Bambi just recently renovated and redecorated the whole restaurant plans! / The redecorating turned out really nice. The Fresh paint looks sharp & clean. And new tables and chairs really give it a new feel. Decorative signS right above the table make you feel right at home. By the way, if you like fruit. Do like I do here.. Double up [ Order 2 fruit cups ] for $4. You talk about a really nice fresh fruit variety! It's extraordinary! See the pic!!! But I have to warn you, Thomasville's best kept secret has been discovered. They are super busy, most times! Couldn't happen to nicer people! A big menu change if you love oysters. They now offer oyster stew on Friday & Saturday's. Just like my mama uses to make it! :) By the way, they also make a terrific salad! / In addition, to serving me tea just the way I like it. The coffee is steaming & they keep the cup full. (I got the steam on a picture). Strange duck I am. They keep green olives just for me. :) PS. Their Old Fashioned hamburger is Terrific!!! // 9-28-2023 update... Little things matter here... Like anyone else that employs other people, things can happen That the owner does not know about. But here, If you talk to Bambi who owns and manages it, She Will Make It Right! Not only that, She will work on it and prove it and fix it!! Most of her white staff here is literally And like family to their customers want you get to know them. If you like chicken livers. They are top notch here. Picture attached. Like I meant you little things they are really good at! For instance heading up my tea to near boiling for me And I mean a full glass. If you're really craving something special like their Okra. Which I was today. Tell them and they just about always throw in a few extra when you order a double order! They even keep a special lo-cal bread here. At first they did it just for me. And now they keep it for other customers as well. They get real busy but they always try to treat customers right! You are not just a number here! I am really thankful for The TerryHouse!

We went at lunchtime during lunch rush, and we all got the plate lunches. The food was cold. I got grilled chicken breast, and it must have been pre-made because it was cold as ice, and the meat was tough. My mom got chicken pot pie, and it also was really cold. The only thing that was good was my side salad and for dessert. I got a strawberry shortcake.. both were supposed to be cold, so they were spot on!

A local secret with the best home cooking ever! Kind and welcoming to all. They're fried chicken livers on Thursday are amazing. If you get the chance to go -then Go! You won't be disappointed, I promise!

I would say the wait staff or waitresses or very nice and kind and polite the food was pretty good I would have made a couple changes in the gravy but besides that it was very good and I'll definitely go back again.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends who live in Thomasville. This morning we had a fabulous breakfast with the best Biscuit I've ever eaten! Our server was AMAZING... kind, smiling, attentive with a restaurant full of customers. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner, too!

Yummy food, friendly wait staff and always a great value. We highly recommend stopping in.
